Most cannabis consumers know how to vape, or smoke weed without any problem. However, dabbing is a bit trickier and requires some extra knowledge and equipment. Sure, you can dab cannabis concentrates with just a torch, but safety is also very important when you dab your cannabis concentrates, and a superhot torch isn’t the safest way to dab your concentrates.

Dabbing is the act of inhaling vaporized cannabis concentrates. These cannabis concentrates are extracted by using solvents such as propane or butane. In addition, there are also solvent-free methods such as supercritical CO2.

Let’s explain how you can dab your cannabis concentrates.

How to Dab

Firstly, let’s remind you that cannabis concentrates are much higher in cannabinoids than cannabis buds. In short, you will experience a more intense high with just one or two inhalations. For instance, cannabis buds usually have a THC content of approximately 15 to 20% whereas cannabis concentrates have a THC concentration of over 80%. In other words, dabbing isn’t for everyone, especially if you are a new in the cannabis world.

Extracts contain less plant material than cannabis buds and that’s why it is much higher in cannabinoids.

The most common method uses a torch that reaches very high temperatures. This method consists of a dab rig (a bong), a nail (the bowl where you will place the cannabis concentrate), a dabber (a tool that you will use to apply the cannabis wax or concentrate to the nail) and a cap (to control the airflow). In addition, you will need a torch to heat the bowl where you have placed the cannabis concentrate.

If you prefer safer dabbing methods, then you can choose devices with regulated temperature control and no torches. These devices, commonly known as e-nails, are safer than traditional dabbing methods.

How do I dose cannabis concentrates?

Firstly, you need to know the THC level of your cannabis concentrates. In other words, the more potent it is, the smaller dose you need to dab. Our recommendation is to always start small, especially if you are a cannabis newbie.

Most of solvent-based cannabinoids contain a THC concentration between 60 and 90%. In addition, legal markets are required to specify the THC content of the concentrates. Moreover, bear in mind that cannabis does not affect everyone the same way. Some people will need less quantity to feel its psychoactive effects whereas others will need higher doses. This depends on our endocannabinoids system, as not everyone reacts the same way to cannabinoids.

If you are looking for a safer way to dab, then you should opt to dab with induction heating devices or e-nails.
